Six courageous riders braved the sub-zero temperatures and met up with me at OMG Baked Goodness on Dundas West. Despite being March the temperatures on Saturday were a chilly -3 and probably a lot colder with the wind that we were blasted with along Queens Quay.

The -3 degree temperatures didn’t dampen our excitement over all the scrumptious choices that we were presented with and many of us indulged in two sweet treats at OMG Baked Goodness.

Lulu mentioned that her front wheel was stolen a couple of days ago and we started chatting about how we’ve all had various bike accessories stolen. We concluded that there must be a lot of thieves within the cycling community because who else would want a bicycle light or bell!

Our ride was not bad when we were riding under the sun, but admittedly, some parts were brutal. The worst was riding through Queen’s Quay in the shadow of the buildings, stopping at every light and being blasted by the cold, cold wind.

We made it, though! And the cold ride was definitely worth it when we arrived at the heavenly Bobbette & Belle. Feasting on the heavenly buttercream cupcakes was made even sweeter when we got to sit next to beautiful cakes and warm up on hot chocolate topped with a roasted marshmallow!

I have to say, Bobbette & Belle is the nicest bakery we’ve visited so far! Owner, Allyson came out to meet us, despite being swamped with orders and she even got us a little token for visiting. So thoughtful and welcoming with such nice attention to detail, just like all their baked goods.

Our time at Bobette & Belle went by really quickly and before we knew it we were all warm and ready to face the cold wind back home.

Thank you ladies for braving the cold and joining me on the Season Opener! And thank you to OMG and Bobbette & Belle for having us!
