Sweet Ride #2
Our second ever Sweet Ride was this past Sunday and we lucked out with beautiful weather again! Despite a few last minute changes to our itinerary, we still had a great turn out with 14 riders.
The new, first destination was La Boheme just a few blocks north of Eglinton where the pastries were buttery and delectable! We were greeted by Peggy and her super friendly staff.
Then we were off! We biked to Serena Gundy Park and then winded our way through Sunnybrook Park and the Don Valley trail. It was gorgeous, leafy and green.
The trails were also full of pollen and I arrived at Bobbette and Belle with bloodshot eyes. It was all worth it, though, because Sunday was the first day they offered their magical ice cream whoopie pies. These amazing desserts are made of Kawartha’s ice cream sandwiched between two moist, chocolate cookies. I will definitely be going back for more!
As much as we love hanging out at Bobbette and Belle, it wasn’t our last stop. The Distillery District was – so we headed westbound for a short ride on the Martin Goodman Trail to Cherry St. By this time our group was starting to thin out and sadly I couldn’t stay to try the Sake samples. I did purchase ‘sake kasu’ which is the left over fermented rice, once all the sake has been pressed out of it.
A big huge thank you to Peggy of La Boheme and Allyson, Sarah and Amanda of Bobbette and Belle for having us, despite being contacted at the last minute! Thank you for being so accommodating and welcoming. Joe, my co-organizer, thank you for always doing a great job getting the word out about our rides! And to everyone who came out, thank you for making our latest Sweet Ride so fun!
Our next Sweet Ride is scheduled for August. See you then!

The Girls’ Cupcake Ride is this upcoming Saturday! There will be a change in bakery locations but weather permitting it is still on and I’m hoping to end the ride at Bike Fest! Hope to see you there!

Oooh! Excited to hear you’re considering hitting up Bike Fest en route! Didn’t want to have to choose between the two.
YAY!! We’ll see you again soon
