October Girls’ Cupcake Ride Report
OK, I give up. I brought my film camera out on Saturday but I still haven’t finished all 24 exposures so I haven’t even taken my film in to be developed! Those shots will have to be a post for another day, I guess.
Not to worry, though, because I took a lot of shots with my point-and-shoot. And for the first time in a long time, the weather wasn’t an issue for the Cupcake Ride! As you can see it was a glorious day – perfect for a bike ride.
The weather wasn’t the only thing that was beautiful on Saturday. We had a tonne of gorgeous bikes come out ranging from Rose’s iconic Pashley, Andrea’s gorgeous Opus to Denise’s new sporty new Trek! Ainsley and Kathleen brought out their fancy, custom road bikes and Yvonne brought out the lovely Linus bike that she won at the Dandyhorse Issue release party.
A well-meaning photographer tried to take a group shot for us but 2 out of the 3 photos were blurry and in this one Lisa has her eyes closed. Wops!
We met up at Bake Sale and enjoyed some of their mini cupcakes. Many of us tried their seasonal Pumpkin Pie cupcakes – the buttercream frosting was spicy and creamy.
We rode all the way down Royal York to Lake Shore Boulevard and then entered the Martin Goodman Trail from Park Lawn.
We exited the trail at Strachan Avenue and rode up to Trinity Bellwoods Park. Then we took Dundas Street to Kensington Market where we ended up at Miss Cora’s Kitchen.
Our October Ride was a bit longer than our usual Cupcake Rides but I think we all enjoyed basking in the last bit of summer sunshine that we were lucky enough to have.
Thank you to the first timers and Cupcake Ride regulars for coming out and riding with me!

Man, was she ever bossy! She wanted me to share my cupcakes around! Sheesh.
Many thanks for the ride! So. Much. Fun.
