June Critical Mass
My first Critical Mass in almost a year!
The June Critical Mass was on the smaller side this month. Most likely because it was the Friday before the long weekend and also because it was Pride Weekend!
His and her bikes – awwwwww~
That night, many pedestrians, who are usually in awe of all the cyclists and allow us to bike through red lights, were quite angry and vocal with our group riding en masse and cutting them off. It was a little surprising to see this kind of angry reaction from pedestrians, when generally this kind of anger towards a Critical Mass group comes from motorists. Perhaps it was a lack of ‘Happy Friday’s being yelled out by our group? Or perhaps the anger was “kindled by a thousand discourteous acts of my fellow cyclists“.
While the group rode over to the Brickworks for the Bike-in Movie Night, we broke away and headed over to our place for Japanese cold noodles (aka Hiyashi chūka = 冷やし中華).
It was a great start to the long weekend!
