I think this is what those fashion bloggers call colour blocking?
Seeing these daffodils in Trinity Bellwoods on my way home last week reminded me of this poem by Wordsworth:
I wandered lonely as a Cloud
That floats on high o’er Vales and Hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd
A host of dancing Daffodils;
Along the Lake, beneath the trees,
Ten thousand dancing in the breeze.
The waves beside them danced, but they
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee: –
A poet could not but be gay
In such a laughing company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude,
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the Daffodils.
I can’t believe that the flowers and trees are already blooming … the magnolias are already budding and look like they are going to blossom very soon. Usually they are in full bloom around Mother’s Day in Toronto!
What a beautiful week to ride around town in Toronto! We broke all sorts of temperature records this week. And while, the thought of irreversible climate change was at the back of my head, I still rode around glad for the warm, dry weather.
The temperatures are going down a bit this weekend and there may be some rain on Saturday, but for March it’s still going to be super warm.
And in Cupcake Ride news, I’m just finalizing a few things and the details for the 2012 Season Opener will be up soon!
Have a great weekend everybody!
